We stayed in
the hostel this mornig, but it was such a great morning! First, we had
breakfast and then we joined our teams and started to have the different
activities. We learnt some vocabulary about flora and we made a very special
toy.
After lunch,
we visited an amazing town called Santillana del Mar. It is The Town of the
Three Lies, since it is neither a Saint, nor flat, nor it is closed to the sea.
There, we could admire the “Santa Juliana” Collegiate Church. Ashley, one of
the monitors, explained us its history. The weather got better and we could
walk to this beautiful town.
The next
stop… Altamira caves and museum! We had the
opportunity of admiring the replica of the prehistoric paintings, and we also
spent some time at the museum learning about life in the past.
Then, before dinner (and breakfast, and lunch) we always sing a song so we practice how to ask for things in English: “Can I have a glass, please? Can I have a napkin, please? Can I have a hot dog, please?” We need to ask for everything in English. While we are eating the monitors control that we are speaking English at the table and they give points and MaxOks to the best team.
Before going to bed we prepared our theatre
plays. The last day we will performance them.
We had a lot of fun!!
Esta
mañana nos hemos quedado en el albergue, ¡pero ha sido una mañana genial!
Primero hemos desayunado y después nos hemos unido a nuestros equipos y hemos
empezado a realizar las diferentes actividades. Hemos aprendido vocabulario
sobre la flora y hemos fabricado un muñeco muy especial.
Después de comer, visitamos un maravilloso pueblo
llamado Santillana del Mar. Es el Pueblo de las Tres Mentiras ya que no es Santo,
no es llano y no está cerca del mar. Allí, pudimos admirar la fantástica
Colegiata de Santa Juliana. Ashley, uno de los monitores, nos explicó su
historia. El tiempo mejoró por lo que pudimos andar por este bonito pueblo.
La
siguiente parada… ¡Las cuevas de Altamira y el museo! Tuvimos la oportunidad de
admirar una réplica de las pinturas prehistóricas y también estuvimos un tiempo
en el museo aprendiendo sobre la vida en el pasado.
Después,
antes de la cena (y del desayuno y comida) siempre cantamos una canción para
practicar cómo pedir las cosas en inglés: “¿Me puede dar un vaso, por favor?
¿Me puede dar una servilleta, por favor? ¿Me puede dar un perrito caliente, por
favor?” Tenemos que pedir todo en inglés. Mientras estamos comiendo los
monitores controlan que estemos hablando en inglés en la mesa y dan puntos y
MaxOks al mejor equipo.
Antes de ir a la cama preparamos nuestras obras de teatro. El último día
actuaremos. ¡Nos hemos divertido mucho!
